Jackson County is filled with people and organizations working every day to help children and families. The Children's Policy Council bring those voices together so we can better understand local needs, share resources, and support the good work already happening across our county.
As needs change, our work changes with them. Today, the CPC is focused on building strong partnerships and finding grants, donations, and other resources that can help trusted local agencies reach more children and families.

Community Support in Action
Supporting Michael Scott Learning Center
In August 2026, the CPC voted to award a one-time $3,500 mini-grant to the Michael Scott Learning Center in Stevenson. We are proud to to support an organization already creating opportunities for children and families in our county.
Jackson Youth Connect: A Partnership with YAP
In summer 2026, the CPC provided $3,700 in mini-grant support for Youth Advocacy Program's work with Jackson County youth. That support helped provide summer activities and back-to school supplies and is now helping YAP begin another year of its Tuesday Night youth program.
That partnership continues through Jackson Youth Connect (JYC), a joint effort of the CPC and YAP. The CPC works to bring resources and community support to the program, while YAP provides the trusted staff, mentors, and relationships to make it work. Together, we are helping local teens find connection, encouragement, new experiences, and a place where they feel they belong.
