Little Free Libraries

At the Jackson County Children's Policy Council, we believe that every child deserves easy access to books and the joy of reading. Our Little Free Library Project is designed to make that belief a reality by bringing books directly to the communities where they are needed most.
We are proud to install a Little Free Library at each school in Jackson County that serves elementary through junior high students, as well as at the Jackson County Juvenile Court. These libraries are small, book-sharing boxes where anyone can borrow or donate books, ensuring that all children and families in our rural county have access to reading materials.
Each library will be carefully built, painted, and assembled by dedicated volunteers, and stocked with a wide variety of books purchased with funds from the Campaign for Grade Level Reading Grant. By registering each one with the official Little Free Library organization, families will be able to easily find the closest library to them.
We believe that these Little Free Libraries will inspire a love of reading and learning that will last a lifetime. By placing them in accessible locations, we hope to encourage children to explore new stories, expand their imaginations, and build a lifelong habit of reading.
Together, we can make books and literacy a cornerstone of every child’s life in Jackson County.
